I read, write and teach; sometimes in that order, mostly simultaneously.
I am a lecturer in Theatre at Brunel University London. I received my PhD in Drama from the University of Exeter in 2016. I wrote about walking as a performance/ethnographic practice in contemporary Delhi. For my first monograph, I am researching South Asian women’s women's visual art, photo-performance and technologies of labour.
I was shortlisted for Hachette UK’s Mo Siewcharran Prize for Fiction in 2019. In 2021, I was the recipient of the London Writers Award for Literary Fiction, and in 2022, a Tin House Winter Workshop Fiction workshop participant. I have been selected as a London Library Emerging Writer for 2022-23.
